I didn't forget

I have not forgotten about my little life blog here. I swear. Life gets in the way of a lot of things sometimes and I could never seem to find a little time. 

So we are about 2 months in to 2015, and this is already shaping up to be the best year yet. Biggest change this year? We are buying a house! Well, we are actually working with a builder and having a house built. We will be leaving Round Rock and going down the road to Hutto, TX. I love Round Rock, but we can get more bang for our buck in Hutto. It's not the end of the world since the towns are right next to each other.

So here is our plot. We've already picked our new future address and this will soon be a finished home. 

There are no words to describe how excited we are. This has been years in the making. Credit building, money saving, being disciplined in our spending. It's all coming together. The hard work we've put in is what really makes this all sweeter.

We also have some other minor changes this year. I'm going to be starting a new and exciting job, and my cousin moved out to TX from California. I'm just recruiting every body now to move! 

I think moving forward I may use this blog as an outlet to discuss our journey through this process. I know I talk about parenting normally, but this house has everything to do with my boys. I want to give them stability. A foundation. A home to look back on and smile. The husband and I are doing this for them. Well for us too, but about 70% for them. 

Right now we had already gotten pre-approved through one lender (big difference between pre-qual and pre-approved) but the builder has a better interest rate and will give us 2% down if we use their lender so now we have to do the pre-approval again. Not a big deal and it doesn't really delay things either since the house won't be ready till June. 

So I'll update when we have updates and in the meantime, I'll be shopping around and searching Pintrest for some decor ideas. Man I love Pintrest!
